Hi.
I'm using Network Monitor 3.4. I click on the Experts tab from the menu and instructed to download Experts, which I do but nothing happens. It gets downloaded but it does not appear inside of network monitor. Can anyone assist please?

The ExpertSDK download is for folks that want to create experts. The Home page has links to the available experts, which you can load individually.

Also, Message Analyzer (http://blogs.technet.com/MessageAnalyzer), is the tool replacing Network Monitor and Network Monitor is no longer being developed. Most of the functionality of the experts is built-in to Message Analyzer, and if something's missing we'd like to hear about it on our discussions forums: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=messageanalyzer
.
Thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.

If I may sir. Could you advise or guide me to instructions on how to get experts working with PM 3.4? When I load the app I go to experts and the only option I see is download experts, which I do of course but when downloaded I cannot see anyway to install what I have just downloaded and so when I click on experts back in PM 3.4, you guessed it I see the same option offering to download again....

PS. I do understand what you say about Message Analyser and know of it but the problem is there isn't a lot of written word on it at present.

On the page main codeplex page there are also links to available experts. On the page you should see NMDecrypt, Top Users, Top Protocols, Simple Search and TCP Analyzer. This codeplex page is intended for creating experts, so the download here is the SDK. The other links are for the individual experts, which you need to download one by one.

For help with Message Analyzer, the documentation can be reached from the Help->View Help, which sends you to TechNet. There are also some videos on http://aka.ms/MAVidoes. Of course if you are confortable with Network Monitor, that's fine too. But if we need to improves something, we'll probably have to focus on Message Analyzer.

Can I ask, what kind of experts are you looking for? What are you looking to do?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul.

Firstly, thank you once again.

So I have a problem Java application. NM does not yield any problems so I started thinking about Experts. Now I maybe well off track here and Experts may not help with this particular problem but I thought it would be good for me to at least take a look all the same.

Thanks again Paul.
